RENOVATION, STYLING + PROFILING

A project inspired by nature + the human e x p e r i e n c e. tactile, layered, luxe + cozy … all of the corners of this phased project were intentionally curated to evoke a true sense of home for our clients.

We came into this space [a fully furnished show-home] + dug in on the main floor first. this home had a gorgeous open concept plan, thoughtfully divided by the stacked Frank Llyod Wright inspired walnut-encased stairwell. The floor to ceiling south-facing windows spanned two floors with lake + open field views + really called us to highlight everything organic + natural to really bring the outside IN.

On the list : an oversized, comfortable sectional to sink into, with additional seating + landing spaces for guests, a large dining table + chairs that would be LOVED ON daily, a cozy reading nook, rugs to define the spaces, moody lighting + some art curation to ignite their clean gallery style walls. Cozy, curated, nourishing, moody + inviting … its a VIBE + we’re into it.

the feelING that i was after, it was all there … i could sit here all day + just look at this space.

Using WRIGHT’S iconic organic prairie style as a jump off point, we started with textiles to juxtapose the spanning wood, brick + glass in the space. We added an extra deep sectional in a classic re-invented boucle + layered it with pebbled graphite leathers + warm caramel-hued micro sherpa. A large resin coffee table was created custom by Canadian artist MARTHA STURDY to bring a hard landing surface into the space without adding more wood. Textured rugs were layered with more functional, hardy ones to bring warmth underfoot from the moment you enter the home.

3 organic amoeba shaped pendants were thoughtfully suspended over one of our favourite pieces in the home; the sustainably sourced wood dining table from TARACEA, a Mexico-based manufacturer who’s design process ‘honors the life of a tree + its worthy journey through earth’. We paired this art piece with timeless classic Milo Baughman armed dining chairs in a rich caramel pebbled leather.

Slivers of matte black metals + brass were scattered throughout, along with a POP of neon + nude in the form of a fun MOROSO armchair juxtaposed some FUN into the space.

Lastly, the WALLS. we worked with local artist, Darcy Lundgren + commissioned 2 – 7′ pieces of his mixed media shredded paper pieces to draw some energy up to the 2nd story hall. His pieces are ‘experiments in mediums, inspired by the tactile works of Jackson Pollock.’ PLUS, he’s a big-hearted + humble dream to work with.
